Little Desk is a service of Appointlet LLC ("Appointlet," "we," "us"). These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of Little Desk (the "Service") and littledesk.com.

By using the site, creating or using a school account, or booking a conference, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. Little Desk is built for U.S. schools.

Who these terms apply to

Schools and staff. When a school (or its district) creates a Little Desk account, that school is our customer. Staff the school invites are bound by these Terms when they use the Service for that school.

Parents and guardians. Parents do not create Little Desk accounts. If you book a conference for your child, these Terms apply to that booking.

Visitors. If you only browse the site or send a demo or contact request, the parts of these Terms that cover the site and those forms apply to you.

The Service

Little Desk helps schools schedule parent-teacher conferences. A school can set dates and times, invite staff, collect bookings from families, send reminders, and connect staff calendars so availability is accurate.

We provide the software. We do not run the school, supervise conferences, or guarantee that a parent or teacher will attend.

Accounts

The school is responsible for who it invites, for the information it enters, and for keeping account credentials safe.

A staff member may connect Google or Microsoft so we can read calendar availability and create or update conference events. We request calendar read and event scopes only. We do not request access to email contents. Disconnect the calendar from the Little Desk account at any time; that stops future access. It does not delete events we already wrote.

Parents and families

When you book, you are booking a time the school offered, for that school's conference, on behalf of your child. The school controls which times are open, whether the meeting is in person or virtual, and whether a booking is changed or cancelled.

If you need a time changed, a booking removed, or you have a complaint about the conference, start with the school. We will help the school when we can.

Acceptable use

Use the Service only for the school's conferences and related school business. Do not:

  • Abuse, disrupt, or overload the Service
  • Scrape, copy, or resell the Service
  • Use calendar or messaging access for anything other than the school's conferences
  • Try to access another school's data or another family's booking

We may suspend a school account for serious misuse.

Student and family information

The school decides what information is collected about its staff, students, and families, and why. We process that information on the school's instructions as a service provider and, where FERPA applies, as a "school official." See the Privacy Policy.

If we have signed a data processing agreement with the school or district, that agreement controls if it conflicts with these Terms or the Privacy Policy.

Messages

We send transactional email as part of the Service: booking confirmations, reminders, staff invitations, and invoices.

We send SMS or WhatsApp reminders only when a parent has opted in. The parent can opt out by following the instructions in the message or by contacting the school.

Fees and payment

Schools pay the plan they choose. Plan details, invoices, and the current subscription are in the school's billing settings.

We invoice for the fees we show you, including net-30 terms where that is how we bill. Publishing a conference requires an entitling subscription.

An unpaid invoice does not automatically take a live conference down. We may revoke access if we choose to.

You can turn auto-renewal off at any time. Access continues through the period already paid. Turning renewal back on keeps the subscription going.

If you move to a more expensive plan mid-cycle, we invoice the prorated difference and the new staff cap applies immediately. A cheaper plan is available at the next renewal, not in the middle of a paid period.

We do not promise refunds. We may issue a credit if we decide the situation calls for one.

How long this lasts

These Terms apply for as long as you use the Service.

The school can turn off renewal or close its account. We can suspend or end access if these Terms are broken, if we decide to enforce unpaid fees, or if we stop offering the Service.

What we do with information after that is described in the Privacy Policy.

Our rights and yours

We own Little Desk: the software, the site, and the brand. The school owns the content it puts into the Service (rosters, bookings, notes, and similar records). The school grants us a license to host and display that content as needed to provide the Service.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided as is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scheduling will meet a particular educational outcome.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Appointlet LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or the cost of substitute services, arising out of these Terms or the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service is limited to the fees the school paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars if the school has not paid us in that period.

Changes

We will update these Terms when we need to. The "Effective" date at the top of the page will change when we do. For material changes we will notify school administrators by email or through the Service. Continued use after the change is acceptance of the new Terms.
